Sawbridge (Warwickshire) replacement bridge

A timber pedestrian bridge over the River Leam at Sawbridge has been closed since 2018 due to a decaying structure.
This has recently been replaced with a long-life recycled plastic Bison bridge.

Bridge specification:

  • What3words location - ///calculate.forks.flip
  • Pedestrian Bridge, 1.2mtr deck width x 10mtr span
  • Recycled plastic parapets and deck
  • Galvanised steel structural beams mounted on interlocking concrete block structure
  • Charnwood pedestrian gates x 2

Our install team removed the failed timber bridge structure, created abutments using precast interlocking concrete blocks and installed the new 10 metre bridge.

Galvanised pedestrian gates with self-closing hinges were installed at both ends of the bridge.
