Using Chicken Wire on bridges and boardwalks

Chicken Wire is sometimes used to improve the grip on bridge and boardwalk timbers.

While this seems an easy, low cost option, it's important to note that chicken wire is unable to sustain regular foot traffic without breaking, especially after being exposed to the elements. Also, the gaps in chicken wire are unfortunately just the right size for dogs etc to get their feet trapped in.

Damaged sections of chicken wire can quickly become a trip hazard and rusting loose ends can cause cuts to feet/ankles and hands and faces of falling children.

Re-Life40 Recycled Plastic and SureGrip Duo timber deck boards are anti-slip decking options, with minimal maintenance and excellent longevity.
