New route for Glenfield residents!
As part of the Optimus Point Development, Secure-a-Field were contracted by Leicestershire County Council to construct the new Glenfield link footpath connecting the new commercial units to nearby residential areas.
The route of the new footpath runs within Fishley Belt – an area of old woodland that is home to an abundance of wildlife including a Great Crested Newt colony. This meant minimal ground disturbance whilst still creating a user-friendly level footpath that gave pedestrians a route over various ditches and boggy sections.
Secure-a-Field supplied and installed 3 Bison pedestrian bridges and 20m of recycled plastic boardwalk all of which required very little excavation. Additional works included vegetation clearance, footpath creation, fencing and the installation of motorcycle inhibitor barriers.
The specifying of our Bison galvanised steel beam bridges and recycled plastic boardwalk as opposed to standard timber ensures that these structures will stand the test of time in a damp environment.
